Save Environment
Street-level campaigns for waste segregation, neighborhood composting, and community clean-ups.
The Challenge
Problem
- India ranks 7th globally in vulnerability to climate-related disasters
- 2024 being the hottest year on record (0.65°C above the 1991–2020 average).
- Children in India are highly exposed to climate risks, with 90% breathing polluted air
Our Intervention
What We Do
We advocate and educate and raise public consciousness through campaigns.
On the Ground
Our Work
Sarthi has actively advocated for climate action and believes that we are living in the
times of climate emergency. In 2009, Sarthi team undertook a road expedition,
flagged off by Dr. Arvind Sharma (former MP Karnal), across 6 states of India
covering 4,500 kms. Sarthi also produced a documentary film ‘Earth in Flames’ and
screened it and distributed its free copies across several villages and cities, organised
plantation drives and signature campaigns, held awareness sessions in public places,
conducted seminars and talks at various schools and colleges across India and
organised Climate Strike rally in Karnal to join Greta's Climate Action strike. We
believe every individual can be an agent of change in preserving the environment and
working towards environmental sustainability
